TOP FASHION TRENDS FROM AUTUMN/WINTER 2020 FASHION WEEKS
The Autumn/Winter 2020 show season was another memorable one. This season, overall trends celebrated sustainability and inclusivity, while styles geared more towards the pragmatic and classic.
However there was no shortage of covetable pieces being shown on the catwalk. From vintage vibes to building blocks of a classic wardrobe, these standout trends offer something for everyone.
1. Leather Coat
Ride this vintage trend with a leather or vegan leather coat. It’s a classic and understated outerwear piece that pairs easily with other key trend pieces of the season, such as skinny trousers or a miniskirt. If you’re feeling super groovy, get one with a fur or shearling collar. Perfect for those cold weather days when you want to look fashionably retro, all kinds of variations can work – single breasted, double breasted, even trench versions.

2. Natural Colors
Though this trend has already been around for a few seasons, it is not going away anytime soon due to its versatility. There is a perfect shade no matter your skin tone, and these items are sure to be great investment pieces – pieces that will last for many more seasons to come, thanks to their neutrality. Once you’ve invested in essential pieces – such as a beige suit and a chunky knit cream turtleneck – go bolder with statement pieces like a pair of camel leather pants, or even a sandy colored boilersuit.

3. Plaids and Checks
Plaids and checks were back with a vengeance this season, considering an otherwise fairly tonal palette from most designers. It appeared on several catwalks in different cities, and is an easy pattern to wear even for the print-averse. Dressed up or dressed down, for the office and for after work, there is sure to be a variation that works for every taste level.

4. Back to Black
With a large number of key designers showing black silhouettes as their opening show looks, there’s no denying the old adage – It’s Back to Black! At first glance, it sets a rather somber setting, but this season it’s paired with maximum drama and elegance.

5. Red dress
In contrast with the back to black trend, the color red is another standout this season, especially the fabulous red dress. The red dress showed up from city to city in ruffles, sequins, shine and sheer. Though not for the faint-hearted, these chic, daring dresses will be hard to resist for any fashionista.
